The Domestic Settlement Rules Management Unit (DSRMU) plays a pivotal role in safeguarding and advancing the integrity of South Africa’s national settlement framework. The Unit provides strategic, operational, and technical oversight of participant activity across the domestic settlement system, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and national financial stability objectives. DSRMU supports the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) in fulfilling its mandate to oversee, regulate, and supervise payment, clearing, and settlement systems. Through proactive engagement, governance structures, and industry coordination, the Unit ensures that all participants operate within an efficient, secure, and compliant settlement environment. Funded through contributions from participating institutions, DSRMU is committed to serving the collective interest of the domestic financial system by promoting transparency, interoperability, and resilience across all settlement functions.
